Cumberland Avenue Resurfacing to Begin Next Week

The City of Park Ridge is pleased to announce the commencement of a significant infrastructure project on Cumberland Avenue. Starting next week, Cumberland Avenue will undergo resurfacing from Higgins north to Belle Plaine. This essential project, performed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), aims to enhance the safety and longevity of the roadway, benefiting all residents and commuters.

The scope of work includes comprehensive repairs to the curb and gutter, structures, sidewalks, and ADA ramps to ensure accessibility for all individuals. Once these preliminary repairs are completed, grinding and resurfacing of the street will take place, providing a smoother and more durable driving surface.

The project is scheduled to be completed over the next couple of months, weather permitting. During this period, residents and commuters are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and follow all posted detour signs to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.
